Our Safety Program – Continuous Improvement

Our company maintains and regularly updates our Corporate Health and Safety Program. Our comprehensive safety manual includes topics such as: Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment, Hazard Communication, Fall Protection, Hearing Conservation, Asbestos Abatement, Lead Abatement, Injury and Illness Prevention, Subcontractor Management, and more.

Our Safety Team - Dedicated Professionals

People matter more than roofs. A.W. Farrell & Son, Inc.’s Safety Team is made up of full-time, dedicated, qualified individuals who are involved in all aspects of our business. Our safety team works to ensure that safety is paramount on all projects. This includes pre-bid safety review, hazard identification and job hazard analysis, pre-job safety, health and environmental job site review, job site specific safety plans, and site visits for compliance.

Our Safety Training – Highest Standards

Our Safety Team includes qualified trainers who can provide our employees with training on areas of safety associated with the roofing industry. Our trainers can provide the following courses: OSHA 10/30 hour Construction Courses, Fall Protection, CERTA Torch Operator, Scaffold erector and user, OSHA Class II Asbestos Roofing Worker, Small Forklift/Rough Terrain Forklift/Aerial Lift/Scissors Lift Operator, First Aid/CPR, and more! All new hires are required to attend company-specific training, regardless of their prior experience. New employee training on topics such as: Fall Protection, Personal Protective Equipment, Electrical Safety, Jobsite Safety requirements, and more, is required prior to any employee working on the roof.

Our Safety Committee – Continuous Quality Assurance

A.W. Farrell & Son, Inc.’s Safety Committee includes representatives from all aspects of our business: Estimators, Project Management, Superintendents, Foremen and Journeymen. Safety committee members come from each of our locations, and serve a 2 year term. The safety committee spearheads initiatives to: maintain safety as a focus of our employees, continue open and constructive safety communication, and motivate our employees to maintain safe behaviors at our offices and on job sites.
