Las Vegas Convention Center

The Farrell Roofing Las Vegas branch completed a reroof of approximately 48 acres (2,093,454 sq. ft.) of the renowned Las Vegas Convention Center. This large-scale project demanded a comprehensive approach and precise execution, incorporating three distinct specifications tailored to address various needs of the building’s roofing system:

  1. 80 mil PVC System specified for its superior wind uplift resistance and ability to reduce membrane flutter. This ensures the roof’s durability and performance under extreme Nevada weather conditions.
  2. Tear-off and replacement in areas of the existing roof system where there were buried conduits beneath the existing membrane and insulation. Following the tear-off, installing 80 mil Sika PVC over 1/2” DensDeck cover board provided a robust, long-lasting solution that met stringent building codes and performance standards.
  3. A seamless, reinforced liquid-applied membrane coating system was installed over the existing PVC membrane to reinforce and protect specific roof areas. This approach allowed for increased flexibility and enhanced waterproofing capabilities, particularly in complex roof geometries or areas with high exposure to environmental stress.
